Nature & Biodiversity

Respecting nature in the decisions we make

Our approach begins with context: understanding where our businesses interact with land, water, ecosystems and sourcing—and acting with appropriate care.

Our perspective

Nature is a system, not a campaign

Biodiversity responsibility starts by understanding connections between ecosystems, livelihoods and business choices.

Orionetix does not currently claim protected hectares, restoration programmes or tree-planting totals. As Eartigo, Fresh, Nosh Minds and other ventures develop, our priority is to evaluate relevant nature-related considerations before setting project commitments.

Where we pay attention

Three areas of practical relevance

01

Land & Water Context

Understanding local land use, water conditions and ecological sensitivities before supporting activities that may affect them.

02

Agriculture & Food Systems

Recognising that soil health, crop choices, seasonality, inputs, water and market practices are interconnected.

03

Responsible Sourcing

Considering origin, materials, production context and supplier practices when future procurement decisions are made.

Guiding principles

Principles before projects

01

Avoid harm first

Preventing unnecessary impact should come before relying on restoration or offsetting.

02

Use local knowledge

Environmental decisions should reflect local ecosystems, communities and agricultural realities.

03

Improve proportionately

Actions should match the scale and influence of the activity rather than being designed for publicity.

04

Work with credible partners

Specialist knowledge is important when decisions require ecological assessment or technical intervention.
